A magnificent trekking to the Kauri Pass in Uttaranchal, skirting through the Nanda Devi sanctuary which is considered as the outer wall with beautiful river systems and crossing passes in the Garhwal which is the Himalaya trek, the Pass trek of Kuari is very popular among the travelers from European and American countries. At a measured altitude of 4652m, the Kauri Trek which is located in the the northeastern part of Garhwal and also the heart of Chamoli District present in Uttaranchal, also famous as the Curzon Trail can take one easily through the virgin forests, lush green fields and remote villages. It offers an enchanting sight of the bounty peaks of Dunagiri, Nanda Devi, Devasthan and Bethartoli, the Kauri pass trek is considered amongst the some of the best mountains in the Garhwal.

In 1905, Lord Curzon reached Kuari Pass (4652 m). Kuari pass means "door way". He made the trek, and since then it is also known as the Curzon trail. The trek passes through Pristine Rhododendron, oak and deodar forest. Rarely Himalayan flora and fauna are found as plenty as on this trail. The Kuari (virgin) Pass treks is a highly varied & scenic trek which passes through three lesser Passes & five major rivers - the Pinder, Kaliganga, Nandakini, Birehiganga & Dhauli Ganga. The pass or "KHAL" is approached from the ancient trek (Goat Track) route to Joshimath, Badrinath along the pilgrim's route. The Kuari pass is one of the most beautiful trek, famous for the enchanting view of the snow clad peaks of Neelkanth (6596m), Kamet (7756m), Mukut Parbat, Mana, Nilgiri Parbat, Trishul (7120m), Hardeol, Dronagiri, Rishi Pahar, Kalanka, Chaukhamba (7128m), Lampak, Changabang (6864m) , Ronthi , Bithartoli, Kamet (7757m) and others. On a clear day most of the time you are trekking in the company of these mountains giving you a thrilling experience of the mighty Himalaya, particularly the Nanda Devi Massif. These mountains though far away appear very close. The trail was named after Lord Curzon, who was a keen trekker & it is said that the path was specially improved so that he could trek. With independence it was renamed the Nehru Trail.


Itinerary

Day 01 : Kathgodam to Joshimath. (Drive 275 kms)
(Lunch on the way. Arrival at Joshimath. Check in to the hotel.Dinner & over night stay.)
Day 02 : Joshimat to Gorson Bugyal
After break fast proceed from Joshimath to Auli (3000 mt.)(Drive 14 kms.) Trek from Auli to Gorson Bugyal (3300 mt.) Trek 04 kms. Arrival at Gorson.( Lunch Dinner & over night stay In Tents)
Day 03 : After break fast trek from Gurson Bugyal to Tali (3500 mt.)(Trek 07 kms)
(Lunch at day time. Some jungle activities after lunch.Dinner & over night stay)
Day 04 : After break fast trek Tali to Khulara via Kuari Pass (4100 mt.) (Trek10 kms)
Enjoy with panoramic view Himalaya from pass. (Lunch &Dinner & over night stay In Tents)
Day 05 : Full day at Khulara (3500 mt.)

Day 06 : After break fast trek from Khulara to Tapovan. (Trek10 kms.)
Tapovan to Joshimath. (Drive 15 kms)
Day 07 : After break fast drive from Joshimath to Nanital (Drive 275 kms)

Day 08 : Sight seen Around Nanintal
